A few years ago, I was introduced to breath work and I felt embarrassed the first few times I tried it.

Am I doing this right?

Am I feeling anything right now?

What am I supposed to feel during breath work?

I realized I needed to put aside my fear and embarrassment for trying something new and unproven in my life so I began to dig in to the purpose of breath work.

There are countless benefits to breath work.

Balanced blood pressure.

More time in deep sleep.

Reduction of PTSD and feelings of trauma.

Stronger respiratory function.

Better immune system.

Release of stress hormones from your body.

Just to name a few.

Fast forward to today, I am more in tune with my body, my central nervous system and my outside world. I'm less reactive and when I do become reactive, I am able to regulate faster than ever before.

I challenge you to try this 7-4-8 pattern of breath work and let me know what comes up for you!
